0 Interest Credit Cards
0 interest credit cards -- is it a fact or fiction? Credit card companies right now such as American Express,
Visa, MasterCard, and Discovery cards are offering 0 interest offers, no annual fee, free balance transfers, or
some other best credit card deals just to get your business especially with the credit crunch right now.
These offers are not for the masses because most of them have stipulations such as you have to have a good
credit score to avail for this offer.
0 interest credit cards with no annual fee have been prevalent nowadays as compared to prior years. There are a
lot of competition with credit card companies and just get people to open up accounts, they offer membership
rewards, points, 0 annual fee, and even 0 interest for a limited time. These offers gets a lot of attention and
many people sign up not only new credit card owners but also customers that have credit cards with high interest
rates or people with high account balance. Most of these companies also offer no fee balance transfers. These will
get customers to transfer a part of their balance from the other credit card to a new one.
It is important to note that these offers have a time limit especially the 0 interest rate offer. If this is for
lifetime, then credit card companies will have no revenue and will go bankrupt. It is up to the customer to know
when the offer lasts and to make sure what their APR rate will be after the promotion is over. The technique that
most customers do is to sign-up for this initial offer and either start spending or transfer a balance to the new
card. And when the trial offer is about to end, then they sign up with another credit card with the same offer and
transfer the remaining balance from the old card. Costumers do need to be careful though and need to read the fine
print so as not to pay penalty fees or transfer fees and also they need to be on top of it so as not to let the
offer expire and end up with high APR rates.
These techniques as noted above could help a consumer get out of debt if they play their cards right. The goal
here is to get a credit card to get a credit history for new customers and for consumers that have a higher balance
in their account, to pay it off with the minimum amount of money paid to interest and if possible not to pay
interest at all. Also one thing that people do and along the way, they will find a credit card offer that will give
them eventually a low interest rate for life.
To summarize, 0 interest credit cards or low interest rate credit cards do exist but for a limited time
and also not for everybody (usually need a high credit score). And these offers are usually bundled up with other
perks such as no annual fee and free balance transfers. And if you're on top of it, you will get a good credit
history and also get your debt paid.
